I haven’t been to other French schools and don’t care if I ever do, unless they’re in France, of course! I adore Caroline. She’s a great teacher and makes everyone feel comfortable attempting to speak/practice aloud in class. I’m pretty shy around strangers, but it’s been a lot easier to open up in her class, and I appreciate her constructive criticism.

I always wanted to learn French, as my father spoke/speaks it, and I am part French. I don’t know why I waited so long; however, I’m very happy I waited until now to find La Petite Ecole Francaise. The sense of community Caroline promotes, her encouragement, and new friendships are all reasons to continue learning.

I’m currently in my 2nd term (Beginning 1B) at La Petite Ecole Francaise in Pasadena and couldn’t be more pleased. Caroline is a wonderful teacher and I really feel like I’m not only understanding (and speaking) the French language better, but I’m also getting a nice grasp of French culture. Caroline is a great teacher, she’s patient, and truly helpful. I look forward to attending every week. Classes are fun and I’m truly learning. Caroline is a native speaker so you’re sure to get the correct pronunciation.

This has been an amazing experience and I’m very happy I’m at LPEF.

La Petite Ecole Francaise is one of the best French language schools in the Los Angeles area. I’ve tried everything before coming here– Rosetta Stone, French schools elsewhere in the city, and even studied abroad in Paris for a summer– but nothing has stuck with me and helped me learn the language as well as LPEF.

The school offers grammar classes, real life conversational classes, and weekend cultural classes; all of which are great, depending what you are looking for and what your needs are. Also, there are different levels of classes so don’t worry if you are a beginner. One of the best ways to help you learn the fastest is take the grammar class side-by-side with the conversation class. Many of the key elements to the French language are taught in the grammar class and can be applied in the conversation class once you are in it.

Not only is the professor Caroline terrific, but so are the other students that attend. At LPEF, Caroline has built a community around the school and many of the students even hangout outside of the classroom. LPEF also offers outside classroom activities, which further helps build a community in the school. There is the annual Christmas party, French concerts in the L.A. area that Caroline is always informing us about, French movies that are playing locally at the Laemmle’s Theatres so you can watch a great film/learn some French that way, and much much more.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn the beautiful language of France, then this is the place you will want to go to!

The classes are great! This is the place to go to learn, brush up on, or continue your French. There are plenty of night classes available in order to accommodate working adults. The environment is open and encouraging (I haven’t run across any snooty students). It is easy to get along with people; we are all in the same boat. This is a great community to be a part of. I’m so glad that my friend’s dad (also a student) recommended this to me!

Caroline is a gifted teacher. My husband and I fell in love with France, wanted to keep it alive so we joined Caroline’s class! We are having a blast, learning much and embracing each moment. I can speak French and am learning how much I can understand too. Highly recommend. We are 58 and 62 respectively, a truly great time to enjoy a new language. Thank you Caroline for an amazing experience. We took 101 and currently in 102…

I recently wrote the following note to Caroline, my instructor at La Petite Ecole Francaise, and it occurred to me that perhaps I should post it as a review since it really embodies how I feel about the courses I’ve taken here during the last 18 months. Suffice to say I’m truly pleased. Caroline’s approach to teaching, her attention to individual students specific needs and her non-threatening, friendly, fun, inclusive style is wonderful. This is what I recently wrote:

Caroline, I want to thank you and share something exciting: last night in class, something clicked, and for several long stretches I understood everything you were saying in French without effort. I was blown away halfway through class when it struck me that…. I UNDERSTOOD!!! It was a milestone for me and I wanted to thank you for an incredible journey, taking me from knowing nothing to now understanding so much of what I’ve learned in the last year. I’m still a beginner but to have the confidence from last night is truly monumental and inspiring. Especially considering that just last Saturday (during the “faux beginner” conversation class) I had expressed to you that I was frustrated. But during last night’s class, I made the conscious effort to not stress out and not worry about understanding Every Single Word. And it worked. I’m newly inspired and wanted to thank you for being an awesome instructor, teacher and supporter of your students! I love the way you teach. Just thought you should know

I am learning French!! It is an amazing process and Caroline has been our gift! We spent our 36 wedding anniversary in Paris for 2 weeks and embraced the beautiful people, the history, the energy of France! Came home wanting more and found La Petite Ecole Francaise. Truly a fabulous experience. Currently in French 102 keeping our minds alive, understanding more about the French people, having a great time!

Highly recommend Caroline’s gift of teaching and successfully transferring knowledge through hands on interactive classroom experiences. We are learning, speaking, and enjoying each moment studying and presenting. Grateful for Caroline’s energy, humor, and interactive approach.

The class taught by Caroline Busse is exceptional because there is no stress at all but we improve week to week and gain confidence. There’s a community feeling and we’re all encouraged to speak in French whether it’s correct or not…….and learning by making mistakes is important. She’s a lovely young woman but also an organized leader who keeps it under control so there’s obvious progress. And it’s fun.

We really enjoyed our experience with Caroline at La Petite Ecole. Our 5 yr old was among other bilingual kids and has been able to catch up with so much vocabulary, by playing games or learning little poems. She is a nice and caring teacher.

It is rare you meet people who genuinely love their work but Caroline is one of them. She doesn’t only share with us her language, but so much about the French culture and way of life. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know her and having the privilege of being one of her students. Merci Beaucoup!
